500 Year Cycles?

I'm about 100 pages into Graham Hancock's semi-fictional novel 'War God: Nights of the Witch' and something hit me.
The s#it seems to hit the fan big-time every 500 years when it comes to world history.
Tower of skulls unearthed under Mexico City sparks questions over Aztec human sacrifice
"Archaeologists have found more than 650 skulls caked in lime and thousands of fragments in the cylindrical edifice near the site of the Templo Mayor, one of the main temples in the Aztec capital Tenochtitlan, which later became Mexico City.
The tower is believed to form part of the
Huey Tzompantli, a massive array of skulls that struck fear into the Spanish conquistadores when they captured the city under Hernan Cortes."

'War God: Nights of the Witch' takes place in 1519, which is nearly 500 years ago and is about the conquest by the Spanish of the Aztecs.
This is the epic story of the clash of two empires, two armies and two gods of war.
Dark powers that work behind the scenes of history show their hand as the prophecy of the return of Quetzalcoatl is fulfilled with the arrival of CortΓ©s.
The Aztec ruler Moctezuma fights to maintain the demands of the war god Huitzilopochtli for human sacrifice.
The Spanish Inquisition is planning an even greater bloodletting.
The name Huitzilopochtli literally means something like "Hummingbird('s) South" or "Hummingbird('s) Left", yet it has commonly been translated as "Southern hummingbird" or "left-handed hummingbird".
Hummingbirds and the Horizons of Planetary Culture
I'm not into Christian ramblings, as to me religions are just manmade institutions of control, and while I do believe in God ... for lack of a better word ... I believe God is higher than any man-made system of control.
I have no problem with people who feel they need to go to whatever religious institution they feel comfortable in worshiping in, as long as they leave other people to live their own lives (as long as they aren't harming others) in peace.
Having written that to let you know my view on religion, I came across a video from a Christian lady named Phyllis Tickle (who is now deceased) who talks about 500 year cycles in the Christian/Judaeo religions and I think she is on to something here, not that I share some of her views, but this 500 year cycle thing I feel is something worth looking into.
She cared not that people misunderstood her. That was their problem, not hers
Then I stumbled across this piece, which mentions 500-year cycles, as well -
"In all-human, planetary terms, the beginning of the process of individualization can be traced to what Greek tradition depicts as the Promethean gift, which Rudhyar refers to the beginning of the avataric process.
In terms of our present cycle of human development, he relates this turning point to the beginning of what Hindu chronology calls Kali Yuga — the death of the avatar Krishna (3102 B.C.).
As the process of civilization and mental individualization seems to operate in 500-year cycles (and in general according to what theosophists call vibration Five), the process of civilization reached another significant turning point about five 500-year cycles later — the sixth century B.C., the time of Pythagoras, Gautama Buddha, Lao Tze, and the last of the Zoroasters.
In the Greece of the sixth century B.C., the new mental vibration took form in the glorification of reason (nous) and the principle of measurement.
In India, the Buddha taught the transcendence of the caste system and the power of the human mind to detach itself from the forms of existence that engendered dukka.
Five
500-year cycles later bring us to the beginning of our own tumultuous century, which so far has seen the intermingling and destruction (or at least de-structuring) of all the world's cultures through two world wars and the technological developments that allowed human beings to realize the interchangeability of matter and energy and to see the wholeness of the earth-globe from space.
The latter especially has fecundated the human mind and imagination with new possibilities, many of which are concentrated in the terms "transformation" and "transpersonal.""
The great divide is getting wider
"Theoretical physicist Lawrence Krauss. Despite the gloom, he said all need not be lost but we must shake ourselves out of our complacency.
He warned that in a world of
"fake news" we must cling evermore to "stubborn facts".
Scientific inquiry, he said, is essential. We must return time and again to evidence and
never stop questioning and testing, especially our own beliefs because we are too ready to lie to ourselves.
Krauss
has little faith in politicians and is losing respect for the media that, he argues, too often does not ask essential questions.
We the people, he says, hold the future in our hands. We must demand more and not be hoodwinked by fear and demagoguery.
These are indeed the challenges of our time. In a world increasingly divided the future of liberal democratic values are under threat.
"
Watts Up With That?
Are we sleepwalking to World War III?
Something to think about, but don't take it to heart, I say;-)
