Titans, Sirens and the God of Thunder? Let the Games Begin ... That's if They Haven't Started Already?

I think I'll have to stop reading newspapers and Chris Knowles posts at 'The Secret Sun' blog.
The Commonwealth Games opening ceremony starts in a few hours on Queensland's Gold Coast and I've been thumbing through a few old Queensland newspapers while re-reading Chris's post about the new Netflix movie 'The Titan'.
The WTFs started flying out of my mouth when I picked up the March 17th, 2018 (St. Patrick's Day) newspaper pictured above with the headline "Dangerous Fools".
You might want to take note of the "Reign of Fire" and "Win a Luxury Hawaiian Cruise" pieces on the same front page for later on in this post, too.
In that St. Patrick's Day newspaper, I saw that the Quicksilver tourism boss Tony Baker swam with the Games baton underwater in the Great Barrier Reef up near Cairns.
I thought his name seemed familiar and then I saw this story featuring Tony from a year ago -
But when I saw Quicksilver boss, I was thinking about the guy who went missing off the French coast who I mentioned in this post I wrote back in February -
And on the subject of France, Margot Robbie was mentioned in the March 17th paper as being back home and also being the new ambassador for Chanel, which reminds me of the bathtub full of pearls that Chris mentioned in another post of his at 'The Secret Sun' -
Nephilim Rising: Are You Not Entrained?
Margot has been invited to tonight's opening ceremony by the Premier of Queensland, so I'll have to keep an eye on my TV screen tonight for the Gotham City Siren.
Chris Hemsworth has also been given an invite by the Queensland Premier to the opening ceremony, so I'll have to keep an eye out for the God of Thunder, as well.
The last Thor movie was filmed on the Gold Coast and Brisbane, so it seems appropriate to invite him along on the night ... and maybe even Matt Damon could show up with him?

Elsa Pataky flaunts incredible bikini body on Byron Bay beach
And on the subject of Netflix shows and water themes I saw this clip above from the March 26th edition of the same paper where it writes about Elsa Pataky starring in the first Australian Netflix series called 'Tidelands'.
"A body washes ashore in the small fishing village of Orphelin Bay, inhabited by half siren/half humans known as Tidelanders."
Elsa's character in the show is a leader of a group called the Tidelanders, half human and half water sirens who reside in a small fishing village called Orphelin Bay.
"Described as a supernatural crime drama, Tidelands is the first Australian Original series from Netflix, and will be available to view on Netflix globally."
Hmm.
Could be helpful having the God of Thunder around with the eye of Cyclone Iris hanging around off the Queensland coast.
Let's not forget what happened to Cairns just after that underwater baton swim, either -
Flooding in Cairns worst in a generation, dozens rescued as region's roads cut
Also in that March 17th newspaper was this clip above about the Gold Coast Titans former video editor Amy Billings (AKA Amy Shark) attacking US television screens singing her song 'Adore' on Jimmy Fallon's show.
Who remembers Matilda?
You'll Come a Waltzing Matilda with Me?
And on the back page of that same March 17th newspaper was the above advert advertising the April Fools' Day/Easter Sunday "Gold Coast Titans vs Brisbane Broncos" NRL game, which the Broncos were expected to win rather comfortably.
But "April Fool !!!", because it turned out the other way round, with the Titans winning the match easily.

April Fools' Day/Easter Sunday?
Which proves to me that there is a God, because I can't stand the Brisbane Broncos, me being a Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks fan and all;-)
My Sharks tattoo that I waited a long time to get ...
and with room to add more years
In hindsight this story of a fire stunt man burning near tyres reminded me of two more news stories around April Fools' Day.
China’s ‘Heavenly Palace’ space lab returns to Earth in fiery finale
"“It did exactly what it was expected to do; the predictions, at least the past 24 hours’ ones, were spot on; and as expected it fell somewhere empty and did no damage,” said Jonathan McDowell, an astrophysicist at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics.
McDowell said there was unlikely to be any amateur images of the vessel’s re-entry given it was daytime in the Pacific when it crashed to Earth.
Scientists had earlier said it might be possible to see the spacecraft burn up in a “series of fireballs streaking across the sky.”
It landed around
8.15 a.m. Monday local time (8:15 p.m. ET Sunday), China’s Manned Space Agency said."

Winnie Madikizela-Mandela, South African anti-apartheid campaigner, dies at 81
"Why was she controversial?
However, Mrs Madikizela-Mandela found herself mired in scandal for decades.
She was accused of conducting a virtual reign of terror in parts of Soweto by other members of the ANC in the late 1980s, and heard backing the practice of "necklacing" -
putting burning tyres around suspected informants' necks."

Front pages of the March 22nd and 23rd
Queensland newspapers
Not long after the underwater baton swim a helicopter crashed into the waters off the Queensland coast killing a Hawaiian couple who were on their honeymoon.
Tonight as the Commonwealth Games open Cyclone Iris is battering that same area of sea that the chopper went down in.
A picture of the 77 year-old Ringo Star being knighted by Prince William appeared in the March 22nd Queensland newspaper, which made me think of Queensland's tallest building the Q1 for some reason ... oh, yeah ... it's 77 stories high ...78 if you count the last floor that the elevator doesn't reach.
"Q1 (an abbreviation of Queensland Number One) is a supertall skyscraper in Surfers Paradise, Queensland, Australia.
Q1 Tower was designed by SDG & The Buchan Group, and its form was inspired by the Sydney 2000 Olympic torch and the Sydney Opera House.
The express elevator to the observation deck travels the 77 floors in 43 seconds"
But not only is Ringo 77, he was also born on July 7th (7/7).
Ringo's birthday of July 7th rings a bell for me for some reason.
I'm glad that I stayed home and watched the opening ceremony on my TV set from my nice warm living room and not in some kind of wet octopus garden on the Gold Coast.
And with Margot Robbie being from the Gold Coast I would have thought they could have made a mate for Borobi the mascot and called her Margot Borobi;-)
One thing about the Games opening is that the Flat-Earthers must have loved it:-)
I hope that's not a Flat Earth in the opening ceremony?-)
The Mad World of a Flat-Earther
And to top it all off I see this sea vegetable recall in the March 22nd paper, because of potential high arsenic levels.

Fool's journey perhaps?-)
